Last evening our rural office had a visitor. A good-sized bear decided to come and inspect the place. Of course, given our location, we have taken steps to ensure that the place is secure, and we do not leave food or garbage out to attract them. Well the weather is getting warmer and warmer each day. The snow has been melting at a significant rate for the past two weeks and the frost is starting to come out of the ground. When this happens often we experience "Frost Heaves". This can wreak havoc on decks, buildings and passageways.
